Clinical Skills Lab

The Clinical Skills Lab is housed in the Clinical Skills Centre which is situated behind the Education Centre. The Skills Lab is a multi-professional learning facility available to all staff groups via a booking system.

Clinical Skills that the Imperial medical students are taught in the Lab include Venepuncture and Cannulation, Suturing, ECG interpretation as well as history taking and examination skills. Courses in all these subjects and more including Catheterisation, Medical Emergencies, Basic Observation and Respiratory Medicine are also offered to staff outside the Trust.

The Lab can also be used as a general training venue using flip charts and/or Laptop and projector but for Clinical training using the models and consumables all students must be supervised by a senior member of staff or the Clinical Skills Co-ordinator. Internet access is available in the Skills Lab by arrangement, along with access to the Imperial network.

The facility is available Monday to Friday from 8.30am to 4.30pm. These opening hours may be extended buy mutual agreement with the Undergraduate Office or Clinical Skills Co-ordinator.
