Miss Bhavini Vaitha - Undergraduate Teaching Co-ordinator

Mrs Clodagh Finlay - Assistant Teaching Co-ordinator

Mr Don McCrea – Clinical Skills Co-ordinator

Dr Elizabeth Owen – Director of Clinical Studies

West Middlesex University Hospital NHS Trust (WMUH) takes its role in educating tomorrow’s doctors very seriously and works closely with the Undergraduate Office and Imperial College London to ensure that medical students receive excellent medical teaching and training whilst on clinical attachment.

Imperial medical students are offered a clinical attachment at WMUH in Years 2,3,5 and 6 of their MBBS/BSc course.  On commencing a clinical attachment, medical students receive a thorough induction and a printed handbook outlining policies and procedures as well as information and support on facilities such as On Call rooms, lockers, library, clinical skills lab and 24 hour access to the Education Centre. All medical students receive Infection Control Training although currently, only Year 3 medical students receive Blood Transfusion and access to Patient records (PACS, ICE & CAMIS).  Pilots are taking place to introduce e-learning as a means of mandatory training.

The Deputy Clinical Studies lead Dr Elizabeth Owen plays an active role within the Undergraduate Service by getting involved in induction, feedback sessions, pastoral care and assists in organising the OSCE. (Objective Structured Clinical Examination).
