Procedure for doctors wishing to apply for Clinical Attachment
1) Forward your curriculum vitae along with a covering letter stating which speciality you are interested in and provide evidence of qualifications. Please also attach a passport size photo.
2) Your application will be checked by our clinical tutor and then forwarded to the relevant consultant for approval. At this point you will also receive a letter confirming receipt of your application from us.
3) If your application is not successful the applicant will be advised accordingly. (A letter will be sent out)
4) If your application is successful you will need to complete the Occupational Health form, which you can download from the bottom of this page. Please complete this form clearly stating "Clinical Attachment" and forward to our Occupational Health department preferably on a Monday between 9:30 to 12:30. They will advise you of charges that will apply according to what is appropriate. In addition to this there will be a fee applicable to the attachment of £150, which includes a criminal records bureau (CRB) check. A CRB form will be sent out to you for completion which then needs to be returned to Serena Kang.
5) Once all the checks are complete we will liaise with both the applicant and consultant to agree a start date.
6) An offer letter will be sent out to the applicant advising all the necessary details for when they are due to start their attachment.
PLEASE NOTE THERE IS A WAITING TIME IN MOST SPECIALITIES OF AROUND 6 MONTHS.
