Care of the Elderly

 

West Middlesex offers a broad range of services for older people, patients suffering from stroke and heart failure.

 

This includes:

 

  •     Dedicated unit with acute beds

  •     General outpatient clinics for older people

  •     Specialist clinics for Stroke, TIA, Parkinson’s and Falls

  •     Integrated multidisciplinary teams and discharge planning

  •     Domiciliary service at the request of GPs

  •     Consultants provide support for the medical assessment unit and participate in a general     

          medicine on-take service

 

Location

The Elderly Care Service is based in the Marjory Warren unit at the rear of the hospital. The unit comprises two wards for the specialist care of elderly people.  Kew Ward to our dedicated Stroke Ward with up to 28 beds.  (see Stroke & TIA Services for more details)

Dr Linda Tsam – Elderly Medicine, Orthopaedic Liaison Service and Falls Clinic

Dr Bhattacharyya (part-time) - Elderly Medicine and Parkinson’s Disease Clinic

 

Referrals

Non-urgent referrals can be made using Choose and Book, or on receipt of a referral letter.

Urgent referrals can be made by fax.
