Hurayah Khan and David Silva are both Meet and Greet volunteers and both come from the local area. They work at reception where they welcome visitors to the hospital and help them if they don't know where they're going or if they have any other queries.
David (24 years old):
"I started a few years ago at West Mid and then returned recently. I really enjoy meeting people and I get a lot of satisfaction sending people to the correct places. I'd definitely recommend volunteering to others. In terms of learning, I think my communication skills are improving and I'm becoming a lot more confident."
Hurayah (17 years old):
"I've been volunteering here for 3 weeks. I've been able to meet different people each day, helping them out. You never get bored! I've certainly become more confident at interaction and learning new ICT software."
