Community Dermatology Service

From 1st February 2011, NHS Hounslow and West Middlesex University Hospital launched a new Community Dermatology Service for Hounslow patients.

This is a fundamentally new way of delivering the dermatology service in the community, which has previously been predominantly hospital based.

The service was designed and agreed by local GPs working with NHS Hounslow. West Middlesex University Hospital has been selected to run the service after a competitive tender.

The Community Dermatology Service is designed to provide treatment faster and closer to patients’ homes. In most cases this means they will no longer need to travel to hospital, and will be assessed and treated at the same appointment.

With the new service, depending on the patient’s condition, they will see either a Consultant Dermatologist, a Specialist Dermatology Nurse, or a specially trained GP in one of three community locations:

  • Heart of Hounslow Centre for Health
Adult clinics every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday
Also fortnightly GP teaching clinics on Friday

  • Feltham Centre for Health
    Adult clinics fortnightly on Thursday

  • Brentford Health Centre
    Paediatric clinics fortnightly on Wednesday
