How we perform

In this section of the website you can find out about how we perform across a variety of measures that are used to assess NHS trusts.

National Performance Standards and Targets 2010/11

The financial year for 2010/11 ended on 31 March and it is the point at which we are measured against most of the standards the government sets for hospitals. Doing well against these means we are providing our patients with the best possible care within the resources and finances allocated to us.

National Surveys

Independent national suveys are of great importance to us, and help us to make improvements where patients and staff tell us we need to. In addition to these, we gather more timely feedback from local surveys, complaints and compliments, which can allow us to make changes more immediately.

Hygiene Code Inspections

The 'Hygiene Code' forms part of the Health Act 2006. It lays down the rules NHS trusts must follow to ensure patients are cared for in a clean environment, where the risks of healthcare acquired infections like MRSA and C. difficile are kept as low as possible. The Trust was declared fully compliant with the code in its latest inspection.

Patient Environment Action Team Assessments

Every year, standards of privacy and dignity, environment - including cleanliness - and food in all trusts providing in-patient services in England are inspected by the National Patient Safety Agency. In the 2010 assessment we were rated as Excellent for privacy and dignity and Good for both environment and food.
