Equality Impact Assessments

Equality Impact Assessments (EIAs) are regularly completed to analyse the effects of policies and practices.

 

A systematic and robust approach to EIAs will ensure that West Middlesex University Hospital NHS Trust treats everyone equally with dignity and respect. In so doing, we will help improve the quality of life of service users and make the Trust a place where people of all backgrounds are able to achieve their full potential in the work place.

 

The aim of completing EIAs is to create a culture where the needs and diversity of the staff, service users, carers and families are considered. All staff should understand that it is their responsibility to not discriminate against anyone, and to ensure that we do not breach the human rights of individuals that come into contact with the trust.

 

All policies, strategies, projects, functions, procedures, organisational changes must have an EIA screening completed. The Trust is committed to this process.

 

EIAs for Trust policies are attached to each policy document – where these are not present the Trust will included these when the policy is next due for review.
